Job Summary/Description:

Come work in one of America’s fastest growing cities and most exciting sports markets. Arizona’s Family is looking for an MMJ in its dynamic sports department. Join a team that covers NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, PGA, NASCAR, WNBA, and some of the most coveted high school athletes in the country, all within the viewing area. Come be part of a team that produces a nightly sports show, a podcast, and content across multiple platforms. Ideal candidate can shoot, edit, produce, anchor, turn social media content and be a good teammate. Candidate must also have a solid knowledge of all sports and be willing to work a flexible schedule.

A Multimedia Journalist is required to generate, vet and pitch multiple news stories in daily editorial meetings. Once the story assignment is determined, the MMJ will develop, shoot, write, reports and edits video news stories from concept to finish.  The MMJ will also be required to post web stories and recap story progress to newsroom. Maintains contacts within business community to report promptly on new and continuing events.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
– 2-3 years of experience reporting in commercial television stations.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities –

– Must possess an advanced understanding of legal and ethical issues impacting journalism.
– Advanced knowledge of the locale, governing bodies, demographics, and public figures.
– Ability to perform quality work in high-pressure deadline situations.
– Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
