PHOENIX – The Arizona Media Association + Arizona Local News Foundation today named Tregg White as the organizations’ next President & CEO.

White will start on Monday, November 24, and will scale up responsibilities through the end of the year.

White brings nearly three decades of executive leadership and journalistic experience in local media. Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager at KGUN-TV and KWBA-TV in Tucson, where he strengthened community connection through expanded local news coverage. Under his leadership, the stations invested in enhanced reporting resources, especially for rural communities in Southern Arizona.

He is also a former board member of the Arizona Media Association, giving him unique insight into the coalition’s mission and how local media partnerships work in practice.

“It’s a privilege to step into this role and help carry forward the extraordinary work happening across the state,” said White. “Arizona’s media organizations are innovating, collaborating, and telling the stories that bring communities together. I’m grateful for the trust of the boards and look forward to working alongside our partners to expand that impact.”

Prior to his tenure in Tucson, White served as Vice President and General Manager of KGWN-TV in Cheyenne, Wyoming, overseeing a multi-network operation (CBS, NBC, CW, and ABC) that spanned three states. Earlier in his career, he spent 12 years as a journalist—working as a reporter, anchor, executive producer, and news director—giving him a deep, holistic understanding of the local media ecosystem.

“Tregg is a strong, values-centered leader with deep experience in both newsrooms and the business side of media,” said Michael Mallace, Board Chairman of the Arizona Media Association. “His operational expertise makes him exceptionally well suited to lead the Association and Foundation into their next chapter.”

Effective January 1, 2026, current President & CEO Chris Kline will transition to Chairman of the Board for the Arizona Local News Foundation and become an ex-officio board member at the Arizona Media Association. Kline, who has served as CEO since 2018, shared his excitement to see White take on this role.

“Tregg understands the importance of local media at every level, from the reporter on the ground to the strategic decisions that shape our industry,” said Kline. “His leadership will strengthen the statewide collaboration these organizations have built and help expand impact in every Arizona community.”

White and his wife, Alicia, are raising their three children in Arizona, giving them a personal stake in the strength of local media to build an even better Arizona.
