The case for local TV and radio federal support never dies, but election season definitely puts things on a longer hold than anyone would like. No matter the result of Election Day, here are priorities in partnership with the NAB:

COVID-19 Relief: Although a bipartisan deal appears stalled until after the election, we will continue to build support for local media and have over 400 members of Congress supporting our efforts.

Music Licensing: With more than half the House of Representatives supporting the Local Radio Freedom Act, a performance tax will not be enacted this year, however, we will need to continue to advocate against any Justice Department modifications to the ASCAP and BMI consent decrees that TV and radio rely on.

Tech Competition: We will continue to spotlight the recently filed comments on the market power of the major tech platforms and how their anticompetitive practices undermine broadcast investment in both journalism and local content.
