Coming soon: Arizona Broadcasters Association to rebrand as Arizona Media Association
The Arizona Broadcasters Association plans to rebrand itself as the Arizona Media Association later this year to protect Arizona radio and TV with an even louder voice of influence.
There’s no other group in Arizona that invests even a fraction of what we all do together to protect local media and the critical role it plays in society.
We are the biggest ambassador for local media in Arizona, the defender in the courts, the bridge for shared efforts and the funder for everything from internships to scholarships to training.
While the lines have already blurred between TV, radio, print and digital, our Association still limits membership to terrestrial TV and radio stations.
A transition to the Arizona Media Association allows us to relook at these definitions and consider new members from local media operations of different shapes.
This larger Arizona Media Association will also drive new revenue so we can further increase member services like paid internships, our local media ad campaign and consumer research study.
Plus, our rebranded Arizona Media Association will act as the umbrella organization for our soon-to-launch Arizona Local News Foundation that will fundraise for the future of local news.
Most important of all, existing member services will remain intact with an expectation for growing services in the months ahead.
Please share questions with anyone on the ABA board and expect more details over the next few months.
